Richard is currently a P3 from Cotulla, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University- Kingsville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in English. He is also going into his 5th year as a SNPhA member. Richard has served on many SNPhA committees and has served as the PPA liaison and President-Elect. He is also a member of Phi Lambda Sigma, NCPA, ΚΨ Professional Pharmaceutical Fraternity, and also served as the TAMCOP Co-Chair for the Ties and Tennis Shoes 5K. In his free time, he likes to read and watch old episodes of Friends and Grey’s Anatomy.

Daniella was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She is currently a P2 at the College Station campus. She graduated from University of Incarnate Word – San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She is going on her 2nd year as a SNPhA member. Daniella has served on the SNPhA CKD Committee and has served as the SNPhA Liaison in College Station. She is also a member of SSHP and CDC. In her free time, she likes to read books, take photographs, and watch Netflix.

Heaven Carrejo

Heaven is currently a P2 from El Paso, Tx. She completed two years of undergrad at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). She was a pharmacy technician for two years at Walgreens and is now a student pharmacist intern at Wal-Mart. Heaven has served as SNPhA’s Public Relations liaison and is now SNPhA’s current President-Elect. She is also a member of ΚΨ Professional Pharmaceutical Fraternity and was apart of the nationally award winning project PATH through Wal-Mart’s Prescription for Service Competition. In her free time, she likes to play video games, watch hip-hop dance videos, dance, and spend time with her dog Taco.

Rebekah is currently a P3 from Laredo, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M Univerity – Kingsville with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and a minor in Chemistry. She has been a member of SNPhA since her sophomore year as an undergraduate. She has served as the Diabetes Committee chair and is currently the Secretary and is also a delighted member of the ΚΨ Professional Pharmaceutical Fraternity. When she isn't studying, she enjoys watching basketball, especially the San Antonio Spurs, going out to her family's ranch to shoot skeet, spending time with friends and family, watching Orange is the New Black, and lastly, sleep. She is looking forward to making the rest of this entire year an enjoyable and successful one.

Christine is currently a P2 student from Dallas, Texas. She attended Baylor University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Christine has previously served as SNPhA’s Pre-Pharmacy Association Committee Chair and is now SNPhA’s current Secretary-Elect. She’s also a member of the Phi Delta Chi Fraternity, serving as the Corresponding Secretary, in addition to being a member of the National Community Pharmacists Association. In her free time, she enjoys reading, shopping, and more shopping!

Jenny is a P3 from the Rio Grande Valley. She attended the University of Houston to complete her pre-pharmacy prerequisites. As a P1 she joined SNPhA and served as their Legislation Committee Chair, as a P2 she served as SNPhA’s Fundraising Chair, and this year she is SNPhA’s Treasurer. Jenny is also the current President of Phi Lambda Sigma, the Chaplain for the ΚΨ Professional Pharmaceutical Fraternity, and a member of APhA-ASP and CDC. Whenever she has free time, she likes to try new recipes, read a book, or nap. Feel free to contact her if you have any questions!

My-Ly is currently a P3 student from Houston, TX., and she graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She has served as our SNPhA Historian for the academic year 2013-2014. She is also a member of Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity, Student Society of Health-System Pharmacist, and Cultural Diversity Committee. She loves being a part of SNPhA and having the opportunity to help the under-served community. When she is not busy with her school work, she enjoys watching her favorite shows like Sons of Anarchy, House of Cards, Doctor Who, and Game of Thrones.

In her free time, she likes to work out, read, and cross stitch.

She is a 3rd year SNPhA member, and served as Obesity Chair her p1 year and PATH Chair her 2nd year. She is also a member of SSHP and Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmaceutical Fraternity. In her free time, she likes to read in bed and play sports.

Chronic Kidney Disease

SNPhA and Abbott Renal Care are collaborating on a new initiative to increase awareness on the risk factors and disease states that can lead to chrinic kidney disease (CKD). SNPhA performs patient screenings, distribution of health information, and awareness during National Kidney Disease Awareness Month every March. The world Kidney Day website is worldkidneyday.org.

Diabetes

The prevalence of diabetes is increasing among adults and children in the United States. As of 2011, 25.8 million people (8.3% of the population) in the U.S. have diabetes, and an estimated 79 million people have prediabetes. Because diabetes remains largely undiagnosed (7.0 million people) and prevalent among our underrepresented populations, SNPhA actively educates patients on lifestyle changes, medication therapy, self care, and appropriate monitoring.

HIV/AIDS Awareness

A nationwide project to improve health, education, and social environment of minority communities with respect to HIV/AIDS awareness, education, and prevention. SNPhA engages in outreach events promoting awareness.

Operation Immunization

This project is an immunization awareness campaign designed to increase the public's knowledge about immunizations, while increasing the number of adults who receive immunizations. SNPhA's involvement is based on outreach events promoting awareness.

Power to End Stroke/Smoking Cessation

SNPhA has partnered with the American Stroke Association (ASA) on the Power to End Stroke/Smoking Cessation initiative. SNPhA works on outreach events promoting awareness.

Legislation

The legislative committee is a dual initiative focusing on voter registration among underrepresented minorities and on immigration issues affecting the nation. SNPhA participates in events such as voter registration drives and citizenship drives or information distribution events.

The Web committee exists to assist in the development of the webpage's design and function, to put new features on the site through rigorous testing, and to train new webmasters for the future.

SNPhA grows strong relationships between pharmacy students and pre-pharmacy students, mainly through its ties to the TAMUK Pre-Pharmacy Association. Through the Pre-Pharmacy Association, SNPhA members can mentor pre-pharmacy students to assist and advise them through their PCAT, pre-requisite courses, and the application process, and help answer their questions about pharmacy and pharmacy school in general.

SNPhA's new college station members will have the opportunity to participate in all parts of SNPhA's activities and mission. This "committee" serves as a tool for College Station students to organize their own activities and send out communications tailored to our College Station mission.
